Today, we have some very exciting news to share with you! We have now chosen our new Design Team, and will introduce them to you over the course of the next few days. We are very lucky to keep some of our old team, including Kim Robertson, John Lockwood, Pam Smith and Tracy Heaton, so we will continue to see lots of beautiful makes from them.
New to the team, we have Andy Pearson, Rushanne Young and Tina Eldridge who we are delighted to have on board. Today, we will focus on Andy Pearson and introduce him to you all!
Before we do that though, we must tell you that we also have a gorgeous make from the talented Kerry Hickton to share with you today as well!
Introducing Andy Pearson
Andy is a talented crafter, and owns his own Craft Shop (Pinnacle Crafts). Andy enjoys using Die Cuts, Inks and Stamps on his projects, and is really looking forward to taking his techniques further now that he is on the Design Team.
Don't forget to check out Andys blog too!
We asked Andy a few questions about himself in a simple Q&A, so read on to find out more about Andy...
Introduce yourself briefly... Hi, my name is Andy. I work in our family run craft shop “Pinnacle Crafts” in Billericay, Essex.. Which means not only do I get to craft most of the live long day but I get to see and spend time with my whole family on a daily basis.. Including Holly the Border Collie who is my constant companion and pretty much with me 24/7!
How did you get into crafting? To be honest, I just fell into it.. My Sister has always been “arty” and when she initially set up her own craft shop, as a loyal Brother, I helped out where I could. In the early “quiet” days I found myself twiddling my thumbs in the shop. So, I just had a little bit of a play, I think it was with Embossing Powder!! When I saw the effects which could be created, I was hooked.. And the rest, as they say, is history!! I’d love to find that first card I made, although I’d probably cringe at it now!!
How would you describe your style? I don’t think I have a particular style! I like anything from Grunge to Shabby Chic and everything in between.. It probably depends on the project and potentially who it’s for.. I will say this though, most of my projects are on square card bases! I do like things to be symmetrical.. “if it’s not a right angle, it’s a wrong angle”, although I do try and come out of my comfort zone every once in a while...
Where do you draw inspiration from? Everywhere and anywhere! I do like to get the most out of my crafting equipment.. I guess my mantra would be “trying to see in something more than it’s intended use”..
What’s your favourite crafting tool at the moment? Just one crafting tool? Oh ek, Guess it would have to be Dies & Embossing Folders at the moment...
If you were a toothbrush, what colour would you be? Blue. As the song goes, you’re a Pink toothbrush, therefore, I must be a Blue one.. Plus it’s my fave colour.. The contents of my wardrobe is testament to that!..
Tell us a random fact about yourself... I am right handed, but can write backwards with my left hand!
If your house was on fire, what's the first thing you would save from your craft room? My Copic Pens!! No doubt about it!
What is the first thing you grab from your kitchen to take crafting with you to eat/drink? A cup of tea... I am a bit of a teapot!!!
Lifetime of Memories by Kerry Hickton
This is an absolutely amazing make by Kerry Hickton. Kerry has used the new Framed Stamps to create this stunning wall hanging - the texture and colours used make this a really eye-catching piece!
