DIY Christmas Gift Bag

Designed by Wenche Jensen
Items used:
Snowflakes Premium PadCollection 8x8 SYSPPC
Creative Expressions Mini Stencil Icicle CEMSICICLE
Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Past Frosty Dawn CSPASTSPFROST
Creative Expressions Festive Collection Ornate Holly Framed Peace CED3074
Creative Expressions Santa's Sentiments Clear Stamp Set EC772

First, I created two panels with patterned papers, ruffled the edges and glued to the front of the gift bag. Then I used a stencil, and made icicles.

With the die set CEd3074 ornate holly framed peace, I have punched out two frames. At the center of the first one I have stamped a text with stamp from the EC772 Santas Sentiments Clear Stamp Set. The second I strung with hemp thread and made a tiny bow.

Now I mounted the two frames together on the gift bag.

Handmade Christmas Scene Greetings Card

Designed by Trudie Howard

Items used:
1x 6”x6” (15cm x 15cm) card blank

Step 1: Mark a 6cm by 13cm rectangle with a score tool. Do not use pencil as this will smudge along with the crayon.

Step 2:Scribble Chipped Sapphire on the outside of the rectangle and, using a clean finger, smudge to the inside to create a soft halo of colour.

Using a scrap of card, cut away 'hill shapes' and, using the same technique, create some hills.

Step 3: Once you're happy with your hills, choose your stamps. (I used a selection from Lisa Horton’s Winter Woodland and Winter Scene sets.)
Because the stamps are polymer, they can be bent slightly to follow the line of the hills where necessary.

Step 4: Trim excess and mount on to Midnight Blue foundation card and trim again leaving the desired amount of boarder. Mount to the left side of the card blank and stamp sentiment.

Vellum Christmas Bauble Wreath Card

Designed by Lynn Brown

Creative Expressions Inky Christmas clear stamp set CEC805
Creative Expressions Winter scene clear stamp set CEC807
Cosmic Shimmer Frosty Dawn embossing powder CSBSFROSTDAWN
Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent watercolour pallet – chic & frosted set 9 CSIWPSET9
Creative Expressions vellum sheet 40024
Creative Expressions foundation cardstock Spearmint Green 41010
Creative Expressions foundation cardstock Coconut White 40980

Step 1. Take a piece of vellum and stamp the baubles onto it using perfect medium or versamark ink pad. As the ink stays moist you can stamp the whole sheet at once. I did 12 medium baubles and 10 small baubles from the bauble and swirl stamp.

Step 2. Cover with CS frosty dawn embossing powder and heat set.

Step 3. Once you have heat set the powder colour the baubles. I used CE iridescent shimmering watercolours and CE gilding polishes in shades of blue and purple.

Step 4. Once they are all coloured, cut them out.

Step 5. Cut a piece of card to 5.5x5.5 inches and draw two circles onto it, to give a guideline for the wreath.

Step 6. Stamp a sentiment and some snowflakes in the centre. Use second generation ink for some of the snowflakes by stamping off the paper and then onto your design.

Step 7. Take the icicle stamp  from the winter scene set and stamp along the top edge of the card. Emboss and heat set.

Step 8. Place the baubles around the circle and once you are happy with the position glue them down.

Step 9. Cut a piece of CE foundation card to 12x6 inches and score along the short edge half way, mount your design onto it to make your finished card.

DIY Christmas Snowglobe

Designed by Design Team member Liz Borer

Hi there , Elizabeth here again with a Christmas project . I have used the MDF Snow Globe and other MDF accessories to create a winter scene which I hope you like .

Creative Expressions items used for this project:--
MDF Snow Globe CED3079
MDF Reindeer Accessory Pack  CEMDFREINACC
MDF Snowflake Accessory Pack CEMDFSNOWACC
MDF Tree Accessory Pack CEMDFFIRACC
Creative Expressions Clear Stamp Sets Midnight Waltz
Creative Expressions Clear Stamp Set Inky Christmas
Cosmic Shimmer White Gesso.
Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder Emerald Green
Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder Golden Mint
Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder Midnight Blue
Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder Midnight Sky
Cosmic Shimmer Brilliant Sparkle Blue Zircon
Cosmic Shimmer Brilliant Sparkle Snowcap
Cosmic Shimmer Brilliant Sparkle White Gold
Metallic Gilding Polish Graphite

STEP 1 .

Paint the Snow Globe , Reindeer, Trees and one Snowflake with white gesso . It will probably take two coats to get good coverage. When the gesso is dry sprinkle Pixie Powders ( Emerald Green , Midnight Blue and Midnight Sky ) over the back piece of the Globe . Spray with plenty of water to make the Powders spread.

STEP 2.
The Pixie Powders don't move on paint the same way as they do on paper because the water isn't absorbed so fast . However this means that a different effect can be achieved. I found that if I used plenty of water and powder the colours slowly blended together to create a deep , rich background. If necessary wobble the back piece to help blending. This can be left to dry or dried with a heat gun if you are impatient like me . If you use a heat gun hold it well away from the very wet back piece or the water will blow off !

STEP 3 .
Once the background is dry you can see where the water blew towards the edges leaving lines in the colour . However these will be covered by the front of the globe.

STEP 4.
Stamp and emboss the stars from the Midnight Waltz stamp set using Snowflake powder .

STEP 5.
Mix the Blue Zircon and White Gold Powders to create a paler blue and use this to emboss the foliage from the same stamp set around the edges of the Snow Globe frame .

STEP 6.
Shake Emerald Green and Golden Mint Pixie Powders randomly over the Christmas trees and again use lots of water to blend the colours .
I used Bronze Blush and White Pearl Powders on the Reindeer in this picture . However when I put everything together I felt that they didn't show up well so I coloured them with Graphite Gilding Polish . You might prefer the original colour that I used .

STEP 7.
Stamp the ' blobs ' onto the trees using the stamp from Inky Christmas stamp set and embosss with Snowcap powder .

STEP 8 .
Rub Graphite Gilding Polish over the snowflake . Once dry stamp and  emboss with Snowcap powder the largest bauble from Inky Christmas onto the snowflake .Glue both parts of the Snow Globe together and rub Graphite Gilding Polish around the edges . Arrange all the pieces before adhering them to the Globe. Finally add the MDF Snowflake to the top of the Globe .
