Double Christmas Project from Wenche JE

DIY Jar Tag by Wenche Jensen

I have decorated a glass and filled it with candy.
I cut the parts I want with CED3077 Festive Collection Bold Snowflake Frame.
I have stamped a Santa from cec791 make gnome mistake clear stamp set. Stamped once on white card and once on red patterned paper. Cut out parts to get red stocking cap and red Santa nose.

Thus the glass finish embellished:

Joy to the world - card with inner pocket by Wenche Jensen

This time I've made a card, which, if desired, can be used to give away gift certificates. This card has a pocket inside.

Some step by step images of the process of the card;

I've cut out the word Joy in white cardboard with CED3069 Festive Collection Lavish Joy. I leave carton lying in the die, using the die as stencil and put on white glitter paste (CSPASTSPFROST Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Past Frosty Dawn) for highlights on diecuts:

Remember to wash away the paste from the die before it dries.

In stamp set EC772 Santas Sentiments Clear Stamp Set there are many cute Christmas texts, in various sizes. I want to use only part of the stamp text Joy to the world, since I've already punched Joy. Therefore I apply black ink only on the part of the piston I want to stamp:

And stamps on the desired area of the template;

Now I can finish decorate the front of the card;

Inside the card I want an extra pocket and uses CED3085 Festive Collection Stocking Gift Card Holder.

I cut the subject and uses glitterpaste also here, to emphasize the bell. Cuts the panel to leave behind in a patterned paper with little contrast. Pattern sheets are from the block CEpp0002 Christmas Wishes paperpad.

I want to hide tag which I'll put in the pocket, therefore I make a cut also on the rear panel:

And now I can decorate the inside of my card finish:

Christmas Trug by Trudie Howard

You will need the following;

1x MDF Trug
Red & Treasure Gold Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Polish
1x Sheet watercolour card
1x sheet black foundation card
Ranger Perfect Medium
Cosmic Shimmer Clear embossing powder
Hessian fabric
Cosmic Shimmer glue

Firstly cover all of the Trug in red guilding polish inside and out. Then assemble and leave to dry.
I prefer NOT to prime the MDF with gesso when using a guilding polish.

Cut 4x 4cm wide strips from the black foundation card. This will make the belt.

Cover half the watercolour paper in the treasure gold guilding polish. This will make the belt buckle.

Cut 2x 7cm x 7cm squares from the gold card.

To make the buckle, start on the reverse side by making a border all the way round 1.5cm from the edge. In landscape, mark the centre and make two parallel lines 0.5cm either side of the centre. You will now have to cut out the two rectangles to create the buckle shape.

Triple emboss using the perfect medium & clear embossing powder.

Thread onto the black strips.

Stick belt to the Trug with the buckle on the long sides and trim card to fit. Each side needs to be done separately due to the angled sides of the Trug.

Line Trug with hessian to a desired size and stick in place.

Fill with sweets or nuts!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Handmade Christmas Bauble Paper Wreath

Christmas Wreath by Liz Borer http://elizabethborer.blogspot.co.uk/

Hi there everyone , today I am going to share a Christmas Wreath that I made using stamps from Creative Expressions. This is a project using alcohol inks onto heat resistant acetate and then stamping and embossing the designs onto the reverse side of the acetate .
The Wreath base is the MDF Star Wreath also from Creative Expressions which comes with various MDF stars . I only used some of the stars so there are plenty left for other projects .

On a sheet of heat resistant acetate stamp the baubles and emboss with gold powder . On plain white card stamp and emboss the same baubles and rub metallic gilding Polish onto the back of the baubles . I used Chocolate Bronze because I also used the same colour to colour the MDF ring which forms the base of the Wreath .

On the other side of the acetate dab various colours of alcohol inks to create random coloured baubles . Cut out the baubles on both the acetate and card .

Take five stars and apply texture paste through a stencil  to create some texture ( for swirls try using the mini stencil Splash . However any stencil wil work . It depends on your choice ) . When the paste is dry paint the stars with Cosmic Shimmer black Gesso .

Once the Gesso is dry rub your choice of Gilding waxes over the raised design on the stars .
To give the baubles some shape and dimensions stick the acetate onto the white card using dimensional glue . The white card behind the acetate allows the colours on the acetate to show up clearly .

Take some cinnamon sticks and ribbon and tie the sticks into little bundles . Take a few pine cones and paint them with gilding Polish  to make them shiny . Once all the pieces are ready sick them onto the wreath using dimensional glue . Use more ribbonto create a loop to hang the wreath and also to allow one of the stars to hang from the bottom of the wreath .

Here is a closer view of the base of the wreath .

The combination of the gold embossing powder , shiny acetate and Gilding Polishes creates a nice festive project . I hope this has given you some inspiration for making seasonal projects for home decor .
Creative Expressions items used in this project include :--
Stamps to Die For -- Mini Ornate and Beaded Bauble , Mini Christmas Scene andLeafy Bauble .
MDF Star Wreath .
Gilding Polishes - Chocolate Bronze and various others .
Cosmic Shimmer Black Gesso .

DIY Christmas Gift Bag

Designed by Wenche Jensen
Items used:
Snowflakes Premium PadCollection 8x8 SYSPPC
Creative Expressions Mini Stencil Icicle CEMSICICLE
Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Past Frosty Dawn CSPASTSPFROST
Creative Expressions Festive Collection Ornate Holly Framed Peace CED3074
Creative Expressions Santa's Sentiments Clear Stamp Set EC772

First, I created two panels with patterned papers, ruffled the edges and glued to the front of the gift bag. Then I used a stencil, and made icicles.

With the die set CEd3074 ornate holly framed peace, I have punched out two frames. At the center of the first one I have stamped a text with stamp from the EC772 Santas Sentiments Clear Stamp Set. The second I strung with hemp thread and made a tiny bow.

Now I mounted the two frames together on the gift bag.

Handmade Christmas Scene Greetings Card

Designed by Trudie Howard

Items used:
1x 6”x6” (15cm x 15cm) card blank

Step 1: Mark a 6cm by 13cm rectangle with a score tool. Do not use pencil as this will smudge along with the crayon.

Step 2:Scribble Chipped Sapphire on the outside of the rectangle and, using a clean finger, smudge to the inside to create a soft halo of colour.

Using a scrap of card, cut away 'hill shapes' and, using the same technique, create some hills.

Step 3: Once you're happy with your hills, choose your stamps. (I used a selection from Lisa Horton’s Winter Woodland and Winter Scene sets.)
Because the stamps are polymer, they can be bent slightly to follow the line of the hills where necessary.

Step 4: Trim excess and mount on to Midnight Blue foundation card and trim again leaving the desired amount of boarder. Mount to the left side of the card blank and stamp sentiment.

Vellum Christmas Bauble Wreath Card

Designed by Lynn Brown

Creative Expressions Inky Christmas clear stamp set CEC805
Creative Expressions Winter scene clear stamp set CEC807
Cosmic Shimmer Frosty Dawn embossing powder CSBSFROSTDAWN
Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent watercolour pallet – chic & frosted set 9 CSIWPSET9
Creative Expressions vellum sheet 40024
Creative Expressions foundation cardstock Spearmint Green 41010
Creative Expressions foundation cardstock Coconut White 40980

Step 1. Take a piece of vellum and stamp the baubles onto it using perfect medium or versamark ink pad. As the ink stays moist you can stamp the whole sheet at once. I did 12 medium baubles and 10 small baubles from the bauble and swirl stamp.

Step 2. Cover with CS frosty dawn embossing powder and heat set.

Step 3. Once you have heat set the powder colour the baubles. I used CE iridescent shimmering watercolours and CE gilding polishes in shades of blue and purple.

Step 4. Once they are all coloured, cut them out.

Step 5. Cut a piece of card to 5.5x5.5 inches and draw two circles onto it, to give a guideline for the wreath.

Step 6. Stamp a sentiment and some snowflakes in the centre. Use second generation ink for some of the snowflakes by stamping off the paper and then onto your design.

Step 7. Take the icicle stamp  from the winter scene set and stamp along the top edge of the card. Emboss and heat set.

Step 8. Place the baubles around the circle and once you are happy with the position glue them down.

Step 9. Cut a piece of CE foundation card to 12x6 inches and score along the short edge half way, mount your design onto it to make your finished card.
